The best Tel Aviv beach for kids is Metzitzim Beach, by the port. It has shallow water, a playground on the sand, special showers for toddlers and a free beach library. Gordon Beach is the best central option, with its own toddler showers and library, and Tel Baruch is best if you want lawns and space. Whichever you pick, swim only in front of a staffed lifeguard station.
Below are the most family-friendly beaches, what each one has for children, and safety tips for parents. For every beach in the city, see our Tel Aviv beaches guide.

Free things for kids on the beach
- Toddler showers: Metzitzim and Gordon beaches have showers built for small children. You press a pedal with your foot, so both hands are free to wash your child.
- Beach libraries: Gordon and Metzitzim have free libraries with books to borrow while you are on the beach.
- Game corners: the city provides beach games for children, and chess, backgammon and checkers for adults, at its beaches. Please put them back when you finish.
- Playgrounds: Metzitzim, Tel Baruch, Charles Clore and Nordau beaches have play equipment for children.

Beach safety for kids
- Swim only when lifeguards are on duty. In 2026 the season ran from 25 March to 10 October, from 07:15 until late afternoon. Stay in front of a lifeguard station.
- Learn the flags. A black flag means no swimming at all; see our beach flags guide.
- Pick a meeting point. Tell children to go to the nearest lifeguard station if they get lost.
- Watch for jellyfish in early summer. Keep kids away from jellyfish on the sand; our jellyfish guide has the Ministry of Health’s first aid steps.
- Protect them from the sun. The Ministry of Health’s summer safety advice for parents covers shade, water and sunscreen.
- Know the emergency numbers. Ambulance: 101. Police: 100.
Practical tips for parents
- Go early. Mornings are cooler and less crowded, especially on Saturdays. See Tel Aviv beaches on Shabbat.
- Rent shade. Chairs and umbrellas are for rent at most beaches; prices are on the city’s equipment rental page (Hebrew).
- Park close. Metzitzim and Tel Baruch have paid lots nearby; see our parking guide.
- No glass. The beach rules ban glass and disposable tableware, so pack reusable bottles and boxes.
