Simple, uncrowded beach that’s perfect for families and small groups of friends. Next to Charles Clore beach.
The center of the center of all TLV beaches. Super nice, and a trendy pool and sauna/jacuzi nearby.
This beach is packed with singles looking to mingle. Lot’s of flirting on this beach.
Where Israeli teenagers and American singles converge. And right near McDonald’s off HaYarkon street.
A relatively quiet beach for Tel Aviv, aside from the buzzing games of matkot. No lifeguards or beach facilities here.
Super clean beach with many, many green lawns. Feels like America.
Right in front of the effervescent Hilton Hotel, this upscale, relaxed beach offers surfing and relaxation.
High waves and perfect for surfers – the last fully sandy beach before we get to the scary sea rocks of Yafo.
By the famous Allenby Street & trending, opulent Opera Tower building. Tons of local falafel shops.
By the Namal port, Metzitzim has a very nice and safe feel to it. Restaurants and shops near by – great for families and tourists.
This is less known but antique beach is south of Old Jaffa, offering a glimpse into what Yafo used to look like. Adjacent to the Bat-Yam Jaffa ‘border’ beach.

1. Which Tel Aviv beach is best for families with children?
Metzitzim Beach, located in the north near the Port, is excellent for families. It features shallow waters, a playground, and is partially enclosed, making it safer for small children to play under supervision.
2. Are Tel Aviv beaches free to the public?
Yes, all public beaches in Tel Aviv are free to enter. While you do not have to pay for access, there are fees if you choose to rent sunbeds, umbrellas, or chairs from the automated kiosks or beach restaurants.
3. When is the best time of year to visit the beaches in Tel Aviv?
For the warmest water and most sunshine, visit between June and September. However, if you prefer milder weather and fewer crowds, the shoulder seasons of April to May and October to November are ideal for enjoying the coastal scenery.
4. Can I surf at the beaches in Tel Aviv?
Absolutely. Hilton Beach is the primary hub for surfing, with several schools nearby offering board rentals and lessons. Maravi Beach in the south is also a popular spot for more experienced surfers when the swell is right.
5. Is it safe to swim in Tel Aviv at night?
Swimming at night is generally discouraged because lifeguards are only on duty during daylight hours. However, the promenade is well lit and very safe for walking, dining, or enjoying the sea breeze after the sun goes down.
6. Where is the best place for a sunset view on the beach?
Any of the central beaches offer a direct view of the Mediterranean sunset. For a more historic backdrop, head to the rocks near Jaffa Port or the grassy hills of Charles Clore Park to see the sun dip below the horizon behind the ancient skyline.
